The Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society will hold a bird walk on Jan. 26 at 8 a.m. at the Pond Apple Park Trail on Sanibel.

The city of Sanibel's Vegetation Committee will offer a guided native vegetation and landscaping tour on Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. of the City Hall grounds, which is planted exclusively with native plants.

In peak season (now through April), the City of Sanibel reports nearly 13,000 vehicles come to the island daily and typically onto the island from 8 a.m. to noon and egressing from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Big Arts will be hosting a solo show featuring SWFL local favorite printmaker and painter, Barbara Yeomans.
The next meeting of the Captiva Community Panel is set for Tuesday, Jan. 8, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Cone Rooms on Chadwicks Square at South Seas Island Resort.
The 4,550 square-foot restaurant seats up to 150 people and includes 18 outdoor bonus seats. The overhaul and renovation of the building was approved in June of 2017.
From Jan. 1 through April 30, the event will take place on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the entrance to the South Seas Island Resort.
